sarah manya works as a performer, choreographer and theatermaker. she makes location works, intimate theater and performances that cross artistic borders. her location project “three solos: bruised fruit, waiting room and constr/ction,” three solos for women in the kitchen, shower and toilet has been performed across europe in festivals such as springdance, festival something raw, motel mozaik (rotterdamse schouwburg), tweetakt, noorderzon and body stroke (brugge, belgium). her training includes dasarts, rotterdam dance academy (nl) and smith college (usa). she is the recipient of a fulbright/netherland-america foundation fellowship in choreography. she has been a guest artist at new york university and amsterdam school of the arts modern theater dance department among others. her work “bruised fruit” with mari matre larsen, which has been touring for seven years, has recently found a new audience with children two and up. as a performer, she has worked with felix ruckert, martin butler and vera mantero.
